Rick Carpenter

Rick Carpenter is the Vice President and Partner at Open Tier Systems, where he leads the support team, help desk, and project management. With a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity from Villanova and a BBA in IT from William and Mary, Rick brings a blend of technical expertise and strategic insight to every client partnership. Over his extensive career, he has gained certifications in Microsoft Modern Workplace, Security, VOIP, and Backup and Disaster Recovery, allowing him to tackle complex IT challenges with precision.

Rick’s journey in IT services began when he founded Beyond Development in August 2005, where he successfully managed and retained clients until the company merged with Open Tier Systems in 2023. At Open Tier Systems, Rick introduced a new back-office and automation platform, significantly streamlining operations and boosting efficiency. A skilled leader, he also dedicates himself to training and growing his support team, building a robust foundation of knowledge and service excellence.

Rick is passionate about the dynamic world of outsourced IT, finding excitement in balancing security and productivity improvements for his clients. His love for games and puzzles translates into his professional life, where he thrives on solving complex IT issues and creating secure, efficient environments that help businesses grow.
